My Big Fat Fabulous Life: Whitney Thore Steps Up after Babs Thore’s Passing
Whitney Thore’s life took a turn for the worse when she lost her mother, Babs Thore. Although she was very close to her mother, she had to find a way to move forward. She also knew she had to be there for her father, Glenn Thore. Her parents spent every minute together.
The My Big Fat Fabulous Life cast member stepped up and took care of her father after Babs’ passing. She had him move in with her so she could be around him more. She didn’t want him to feel alone. However, he eventually moved back into his house. Yet, she continued to keep a close eye on her father.
Whitney even asked Glenn to put together a bucket list of items he wanted to do. She felt that his list wasn’t exciting enough. So, she added a few of her own suggestions. She took her father to milk a cow, go indoor sky diving, and even get a tattoo. Getting inked is something she never thought she’d see her father do.
Whitney Travels with Glenn Thore
Whitney also had Glenn come up with a bucket list trip. He told her that he wanted to go to Switzerland to see a print machine. Before retiring, he worked in the print industry. So, he felt seeing something he was familiar with would be a good experience.
However, the My Big Fat Fabulous Life castmate didn’t think a print machine was exciting enough for a bucket list trip. So, she once again added a few more activities to do while in the country. She also invited her father’s long-lost daughter, Angie, and her family on the trip, and that made it a trip of a lifetime.
Whitney and Glenn haven’t stopped traveling since Switzerland. They are currently on a trip to Spain and Morocco. They are exploring both countries together. She has been sharing snapshots of them being tourists. However, some fans are starting to feel that the father-daughter duo is getting too close.

Whitney Thore shared a video of her and Glenn Thore walking around Madrid, Spain. She and her father held hands and kissed as they explored the city. Many fans feel the TLC star is trying to take her mother, Babs Thore role. One person says that she “wants to be Babs so much.” Another person feels she is “acting like Glenn’s wife and not daughter.”
