Dunki Box Office Estimate Day 3: Shah Rukh Khan’s film shows a growth of 30%; collects Rs. 26.25 crore

The Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani film, Dunki, is showing an average trend at the box office in India. According to early estimates, the social drama has collected in the range of Rs. 25.75 crores to Rs. 26.75 crores on its third day, taking the opening weekend collection to Rs. 75 crores. The film has jumped by 30 percent over the Friday number of Rs. 20.15 crores.

Ideally, a social dramedy appealing to the multiplexes should have shown a bigger jump in number and this trend has taken away the hopes of Dunki reaching a big number. However, with the holiday period around the corner, it is on track to emerge as a successful venture at the box office.

Dunki should have aimed to be near to the opening day number of Rs. 29 crores on Saturday followed by Rs. 35 crores on Sunday. But it looks like a Rs. 30 crore Sunday, taking an extended 4-day total to Rs. 110 crores. The film will then take advantage of the Christmas Holiday on Monday, and the real test will be on Tuesday.

A good hold in collections from Tuesday to Friday is a must for Dunki to enter the Rs. 200 crore club and a double-digit Tuesday would be the first indication of the film’s journey towards the number. The film is continuing to do business in the multiplexes, however, the mass belts are not up to the mark, and competition with Salaar is just making things difficult.
