Taapsee Pannu REACTS to Dhak Dhak earning a nomination at 69th Filmfare Awards: “I’m proud of our little gem”

With the commitment to contribute to the industry and empower talent, Taapsee Pannu inaugurated her production company, Outsiders Films. Her production endeavour, Dhak Dhak, featuring Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Sanjana Sanghi, premiered last year, garnering immense appreciation from audiences, fans, and critics alike. The film has earned a nomination at this year’s esteemed Filmfare Awards.

Reflecting on the achievement, Taapsee Pannu says, “It’s very heartening to see our small film stand its ground amongst the big blockbusters of the year. This is truly a testament to the sheer conviction of the writer, director, makers and actors of the film who believed that a film like this would find a place in people’s hearts. I’m proud of our little gem.”

Directed by Tarun Dudeja, Dhak Dhak was released on October 13, 2023. The movie’s popularity was so pronounced that it trended on Netflix continuously since its release on the OTT platform.

Coming to Pannu, besides her production venture, she also made headlines for her recent release, Dunki. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Shah Rukh Khan, the film was released on December 21, 2023. Besides Shah Rukh, the film also features Anil Grover and Vikram Kocchar along with Boman Irani and Vicky Kaushal in special roles.

Taapsee will be next seen in the sequel of Netflix’s original film Hasseen Dilruba.
