In the wake of Shah Rukh Khan’s latest blockbuster, Jawan, the film’s team gathered today for a celebratory success meet, basking in the glory of their achievement. The Atlee-directed film, which hit the screens to great acclaim, has been making waves at the box office, and the team was eager to share their joy with fans and the media. During the event, a heartwarming interaction unfolded between Shah Rukh Khan, Atlee, Deepika Padukone, and Vijay Sethupathi.

SRK and Vijay Sethupathi’s blooming bromance
Sethupathi began by expressing his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan’s immense popularity, noting that even acclaimed actors like Mahesh Babu and Allu Arjun had tweeted about the success of Jawan owing to their love for the Pathaan actor. He spoke highly of Shah Rukh Khan’s magnetic appeal, stating, “Don’t ask me! Sir has seen so much success. First of all, I didn’t expect so much love on the first day of release in Chennai. So many people called me and said that they couldn’t get the tickets for the first day first show. People love him (SRK) so much. His name is enough. Everybody loves him so much. The way he treats people, he gives only love. There is nothing less, nothing more. If somebody has written Shah Rukh Khan, you can go and hug that name also. That’s all. And I love you sir.”
In response to this heartfelt admiration, Shah Rukh Khan playfully remarked, “I love you more back, sir! I think after the press conference, if I may propose to you and we can marry now, sir.” Vijay Sethupathi, with a smile, concurred, saying, “There’s nothing wrong, sir. Love you.”

When asked about the film’s reception in Chennai, Vijay Sethupathi emphasized that Jawan was not just a hit locally but had won hearts across the nation. He continued to shower praise on Shah Rukh Khan, saying, “Everyone loves him, and there is no doubt about that. It is love to watch him onscreen. He just pulls the audience along wherever he goes. Leave the films; I love the way he speaks and handles people. He is spontaneous. His mind is sexy, and it is so sexy that it is attractive. Mostly, I watch his interviews for the way he speaks and the counters.”
Blast from the past featuring SRK’s charm
Sethupathi then fondly recollected his initial meetings with Shah Rukh Khan, highlighting the actor’s charm and affability. “For the first time, I met him in 2013. He came to Chennai for an award show, and I met him at an after-party. Somebody introduced me and said, ‘His name is Vijay Sethupathi. He acted in a movie called Pizza.’ So I shook hands with him. Then I did not expect this. And then, in 2019, I met him in Melbourne. He came late. We had gone earlier, so they said, ‘Shah Rukh Khan sir did not come’. So we said, OK. Shah Rukh Khan… he will come late. Ok.”
Revealing more about their encounter in Melbourne, Vijay Sethupathi described how Shah Rukh Khan’s magnetic personality left a lasting impression on him and his team. “And then, when he came, it was very sweet. Everybody forgot that he came late. We forgot that he made us wait for an hour. The way he started the conversation was so attractive. He easily handles people.”
