In the midst of the Jawan frenzy that has swept across the nation, the team behind the highly anticipated action thriller film held a press conference recently. During this event, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan offered profound insights into the film and the poignant concept of Jawan as a universal feeling that resonates with every Indian.
The event, which took place against the backdrop of mounting excitement for the film’s release, saw Shah Rukh Khan, who plays a dual role, along with other prominent cast members, addressing the media and eager fans.
Shah Rukh Khan, known for his eloquence and heartfelt words, shared, “He’s (Atlee, the director of the film) putting so much in this film in such a short span of time, that the essence of the film will come forward as we go along. But I want to tell you, what Jawan means to all of us. So, listen to it carefully. Genuinely, I feel that I think Jawan is a feeling that every Indian has. I think Jawan is an emotion.”
In an emotive expression of the diverse facets of Jawan, Khan continued, “Jawan is an Indian soldier, Jawan is an Indian mother, Jawan is an Indian girl, Jawan is an Indian vigilante, and you have to understand that Jawan many times, is very weak because it’s all of us, and many times, he’s ready for a fight. Jawan is wrong many times, but very many times, he’s also right. Jawan, sometimes will live in the darkness. Sometimes, Jawan will be the one who will be emanating the light, and finally, all of us, and every Indian is Jawan who is upright. Honesty, goodness, love, and that’s what the whole movie stands for.”
The audience was visibly moved by Shah Rukh Khan’s words, which emphasised the film’s underlying theme of valour, resilience, and the multifaceted nature of the Indian spirit.
Jawan, directed by the acclaimed Atlee Kumar and produced by Gauri Khan under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment, boasts an ensemble cast featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Sunil Grover, Eijaz Khan, and a special appearance by Deepika Padukone.
