Jawan is continuing to be in circulation and is now doing quite well, even on limited screenings. On Thursday, the Hindi version of the film had collected Rs. 1.78 crores and now on Friday too the film has collected well with Rs. 1.50 crores* coming in. A number like this has a good ring to it and as long as numbers are coming in upwards of Rs. 1 crore mark, that’s good enough.
This is also the fifth week in the running for the film and there is a big film like Mission Raniganj in front of it. Moreover, to some extent Thank You For Coming has occupied screen space as well, while Fukrey 3 is still a competition that cannot be negated. In the midst of this all, if Jawan is still finding audiences in the fifth week running, and that too after all-time mega blockbuster collections already in the four weeks gone by, then it clearly shows how much has the Shah Rukh Khan starrer been loved.
The collections of the film will now gradually move towards a lifetime of around Rs. 580 crores, though for that a huge weekend jump would be the need of the hour. Currently, the film stands at Rs. 561.53 crores* and it would be aiming to cross at least Rs. 570 crores mark before the fifth week is through. If the collections get into that Rs. 2.5-3 crores zone today, then this would indeed be possible for the Atlee directed film.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
