Ameesha Patel made her big screen debut alongside Hrithik Roshan in Rakesh Roshan’s Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. It turned to be the perfect launch for both as the film not only became a major success at the box office, but it also became a rage among the youth back in 2000. But Ameesha’s next Bollywood outing Gadar: Ek Prem Katha became a historic blockbuster. The period movie, directed by Anil Sharma, starred Sunny Deol along with Amrish Puri and Utkarsh Sharma.
Interestingly, Ameesha’s next major success has turned out to be the sequel of the 2001 movie in the form of Gadar 2. The movie released last month, and it took forward the story of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. It had a terrific opening of Rs. 40.10 crores and has still not slowed down. In fact, yesterday it reached the rare Rs. 500 Crores Club. Hence, Ameesha made her debut in the coveted club.
Interestingly, before Gadar 2, Ameesha had found herself in the three-figure club once through Race 2 in 2013, which earned Rs. 100.45 crores. Interestingly, her third highest number at the ticket window was achieved by Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which amassed a mammoth Rs. 76 crores in 2001, a period where even Rs. 50 crores was almost unheard of.
Gadar 2 has reached the Rs. 500 Crores Club in 24 days. The film has become the second fastest to reach that number with Pathaan, which released earlier this year, being the first as it achieved that feat in 22 days. The third film in the list is Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which reached Rs. 500 crores in 34 days.
Fastest Rs 500 crores grossers at a glance:

Gadar 2 – Rs. 501.17 cr – 24 days
Baahubali 2: The Conclusion – Rs. 510.99 cr – 34 days
