It’s a hat-trick of Rs. 100 crore films for Shah Rukh Khan, as after Pathaan and Jawan, Dunki has become his third consecutive film to enter the coveted 3-digit club. On Sunday, the Rajkumar Hirani-directed Dunki has collected in the range of Rs. 30 to 31 crores, taking the 4-day total collection to Rs. 104 crores. It’s a good jump for the film, however, the overall performance continues to be below the expectations.
It’s the collaboration of India’s biggest director with the superstar who is ruling the roost at the moment and was expected to be another blockbuster. The verdict seems out of the zone now, and it’s the hold in collections on Tuesday that will tell us about its chances to emerge as a hit film, though with controlled costs, there are bright chances for it to emerge as a plus film.
For those unaware, Dunki opened at Rs. 29 crores on Thursday, followed by Rs. 20 crores on Friday, Rs. 25 crores on Saturday, and now, Rs. 30.50 crores on Sunday. Dunki has emerged as the 10th SRK film to enter the coveted box office club, which is the third highest for any actor in Hindi Cinema after Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar.
Dunki will reap the benefit of the Christmas Holiday on Monday and the fifth day will be another Rs. 20 crores plus day for this Raju Hirani film.
