Bold and the Beautiful has Sheila Carter and her toe count front and center today, with everyone but her grieving boyfriend believing she is dead on the CBS soap. So, either the folks on B&B all sit with a false sense of security over her death, or Deacon Sharpe is losing it. Then again, this is B&B, so they could even play it both ways as the soap rolls out next week.
#1 Bold and the Beautiful: Sheila Carter Walks the Earth as Sugar
Sheila Carter’s (Kimberlin Brown) fate will soon be revealed. But until then, the theories run rampant trying to explain what happened to the woman with nine toes.
There’s one thing fans have learned to count on with this complex woman. They know that there’s no way she would stay away from her son and grandson if she is alive.
But now the soap goes in a new direction. The latest hints to drop on Bold and the Beautiful include a woman named Sugar. Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) has found someone who recognizes the name. That would be Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman), who stopped in her tracks when he blurted out “Sugar”.
This sends him searching for the woman with nine toes after watching someone with ten toes slip into the oven. So, under this theory, the search leads him to Sheila, who now lives the life of Sugar.
But, it looks like that’s not much of a luxury, as Deacon heads to LA’s homeless population for clues on his girlfriend’s whereabouts. So, is she now living on the streets as her doppelgänger? This week, Bold and the Beautiful dropped a hint of that possibility.
#2 B&B: Sheila Alive and Held Captive
This next Sheila Carter theory is one of revenge. Deacon found the text messages between Sheila and Sugar, so, he’s hot on her trail. But that trail might lead him to his not-so-dead girlfriend just in time to save her life on Bold and the Beautiful.
Sheila manipulated Sugar years ago into getting plastic surgery. But she came out of that procedure looking identical to Sheila. But she was peeved once she discovered her new look. After much transpired between the two, they parted ways as enemies. So, this could be Sugar’s revenge.

It’s possible Sugar wanted to frame her enemy with an attempt on Steffy Forrester‘s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) life. Since she looks exactly like her, she might have planned to scare Steffy and leave her thinking it was Sheila who tried to kill her.
Her plan might have included running off and leaving Steffy with the thought that her mother-in-law tried to kill her. Then the cops would cart Sheila off to jail and Sugar gets her revenge.
But Steffy Forrester ruined that plan by killing Sugar, the intruder. So, with this theory, Sheila Carter remains captive with no one there to give her food or water.
Since the character hasn’t been seen on the soap lately, maybe Kimberlin Brown is at home preparing for her reappearance as a gaunt, thin Sheila Carter.
If Bold and the Beautiful wants her alive, Deacon will save her. If the soap plans on doing away with one of the most popular villains in soaps, then Deacon could always find her too late, and she’s expired.
#3 Bold and the Beautiful: Gift for Deacon Sharpe
Sheila Carter started acting strange after Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) gave Deacon an ultimatum. She told her dad that it was his girlfriend or his family, he couldn’t have both.
Deacon was convinced that the love of his life changed her life around, before her death or pseudo-death on Bold and the Beautiful. Maybe she changed even more than he imagined. Another theory that’s floating around might play into Sheila Carter’s disappearance.
This theory suggests that she planned this disappearance on Bold and Beautiful. She wanted Deacon to get his family back. So, is this move altruistic for the woman with nine toes?
#4 B&B: Distortion from Heat Waves
Finn’s theory on the eyes playing tricks on the bereaved seems unlikely now that Sugar factors in. Still, John Finnegan‘s (Tanner Novlan) idea is worth exploring.
But Finn doesn’t stay a naysayer about his mother being alive for long. Something changes his mind as he becomes a believer when he joins the grieving boyfriend in his hunt.
But Finn’s idea of the eyes playing tricks might sound far-fetched, but you never know. This Bold and Beautiful storyline could see a twist. Sheila’s body was headed into the flames when Deacon glimpsed at 10 toes. Almost everyone has seen heat waves coming off the hot pavement of a street or sidewalk.
Heat waves are also responsible for mirages in the desert. So, what if that extremely scorching oven gave off heat waves that distorted Sheila’s feet?
This way, Deacon only thought he saw 10 toes thanks to the optical phenomenon. This would mean she is dead, and Bold and the Beautiful took the viewers on a wild goose chase.
#5 Bold and the Beautiful: Sheila’s Brand Spanking-New Digit
The despair-riddled boyfriend is still searching for clues to lead him to Sheila Carter’s whereabouts. For this far-fetched theory, what if he stumbles upon a receipt for a toe prosthesis? A replacement toe could work for a couple of storylines.
No one would suspect that Sheila got a toe prosthesis. She didn’t seem to care who saw that she was missing a toe. She wore open-toed shoes several times on B&B. But what if she did have a fake toe made?
If Deacon Sharpe found a receipt indicating the woman who called him “Daddy” then that is what he likely saw going into that oven. But this would be like him learning of her death all over again.
Or, if Sheila had a new toe made, and he’s unaware of this, a prosthesis could put him back to square one. If he finds the woman they call Sugar during his search, he’d likely rip off her shoes to officially ID her. But if he sees 10-toes due to a secret prosthesis, this likely throws him a curveball, still, not for long.
But that won’t be the end of Sheila Carter in Deacon’s book. As long as he suspects the crazy love of his life is alive, he will pull out all the stops on the CBS soap to get her back beside him.
