Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar starrer Waqt: The Race Against Time clocks 19 years

Vipul Amrutlal Shah, best known for films like Aankhen, Namastey London, Singh Is Kinng, among others, recently celebrated a special day as one of his films is all set to complete two decades. Among his other works, Vipul has touched the hearts of the masses with one of the most loved directorial films Waqt: The Race Against Time starring Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and his wife Shefali Shah, which has now completed 19 years.

In fact, the official social media handle of his production house Sunshine Pictures, took to Instagram to share a video dedicating to Waqt: The Race Against Time completing 19 years and also features a reel which has captured some important moments from the film. The post was captioned saying, “19 years of timeless moments, unforgettable memories, and endless inspiration. Celebrating the legacy of Waqt with gratitude”.

The comedy-drama film follows the light-hearted, yet emotional journey of a father-son relationship essayed by Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar with Priyanka Chopra Jonas as the latter’s wife and Shefali Shah as Big B’s onscreen better half. The film showcases a wealthy father who decides to do everything in his power to make his single and spoilt son responsible as he is in the last stages of his life. It also stars Rajpal Yadav, and Boman Irani in key supporting roles.

Over the years, the film has gained a cult classic status among audiences and everyone lauded the film for the writing, cinematography, visuals, and strong emotional quotient. Besides the performances and the writing, Waqt: The Race Against Time is also remembered for the timeless music by Anu Malik with the album featuring one of the most popular Holi songs ‘Do Me A Favor Let’s Play Holi’.
