Ae Watan Mere Watan marks Sara Ali Khan’s growth as an actor, film garners 4.2 million views

Dharma Productions’ Ae Watan Mere Watan has been getting a positive response on Amazon Prime Video, where it was recently released. The film is based on the life of the young Indian freedom fighter Usha Mehta, who operated an underground radio station during Mahatma Gandhi’s Quit India movement.

In fact, the film has also been praised by Gandhi’s great grandson Tushar Gandhi. He was specifically moved by Sara Ali Khan’s performance as Usha Mehta as it reminded him of the late freedom fighter. This movie marks the actress’s growth as an artiste as this was easily her most challenging character so far.

Ae Watan Mere Watan is also at number 2 when it comes to the most viewed current OTT show or film currently. In fact, the movie has had a staggering 4.2 million views in such a short time so far and it is certain that it will keep growing from here on.

The movie also strengthens Sara Ali Khan and Dharma Productions’ association. This is her second project with the banner after the cop drama Simmba (2018), which also starred Ranveer Singh in the lead. The movie was not only appreciated but it also became a runaway hit.

Also starring Emraan Hashmi in the role of Ram Manohar Lohia, Ae Watan Mere Watan is directed by Kannan Iyer.
