Salman Khan starrer Tiger 3 has stayed true to its name by roaring at the box office on its opening day yesterday (November 12). The film, directed by Maneesh Sharma, has scored a huge opening of Rs. 44.50 crores. The achievement is even higher because it was released on the day of Diwali Laxmi Puja, when collections normally aren’t as high as other days during the Diwali period.
Tiger 3 has also become the third-highest opening day grosser of 2023, a year that has seen quite a few blockbusters. The first and second positions in the list are owned by Shah Rukh Khan with his films Jawan and Pathaan opening at Rs. 75 crores and Rs. 57 crores respectively. The fourth position in the list is acquired by the Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 with Rs. 40.10 crores. The Anil Sharma directed film became the surprise blockbuster of the year. The fifth in the list is the Hindi version of Adipurush with Rs. 36 crores.
Produced by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films, Tiger 3 also stars Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi in pivotal roles. The film is the third in the Tiger franchise after Ek Tha Tiger (2012) and Tiger Zinda Hai (2017); both the movies had turned out to be blockbusters.
