Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s Tiger 3 has collected in the range of Rs. 41 to 43 crores on the third day taking the opening weekend collections to Rs. 142 crores.
While Salman’s stardom got the film an excellent opening of Rs. 43 crores on Diwali day, the jumps are not big enough through the holiday period due to mixed talk among the cine-going audience. The three national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis – collected Rs. 17 crore on Tuesday, which is on par with what the film did on the opening day.
The film should have done better on Monday and Tuesday with at least one of the two days hitting Rs. 60 crores, however, that has not happened yet. With this, Pathaan, Jawan, and Gadar 2 numbers seem to be out of reach for Tiger 3, and now all that we need to see if the film has enough gas in the tank to top KGF 2 and emerge the fifth-biggest grosser of all time after Jawan, Gadar 2, Pathaan and Baahubali 2.
The business on Wednesday is likely to be impacted by the India vs New Zealand semifinal match of the Cricket World Cup though Bhai Dooj will be celebrated on that day. And it’s all going to be about the hold-in collections on Thursday, which will give us a hint of where the film goes in the long run.
