Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon were in their element at the trailer launch of their upcoming love story, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. They were joined by producer Dinesh Vijan and director duo Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah. Dinesh Vijan, too, entertained the attendees with his quotes.
Dinesh Vijan was asked how he signed Shahid Kapoor for the lead role. Dinesh replied that he met Shahid in the gym.
Dinesh Vijan said, “It’s good to go to the gym. If I hadn’t gone there, I wouldn’t have met him!”
Shahid Kapoor added, “We met for the first time in the gym. I asked him if he has any nice subject because I really liked how he has built himself with stories and ideas, not necessarily on star power. That’s the real power of a producer. I have been quite excited about the kind of films that he has been doing in the last couple of years. I was curious to know if he has something for me. A few weeks later, I (got this film).”
Dinesh Vijan then added, “It happened very quickly. He’s a very good as well as greedy actor. And that’s a good thing for actors. I think he liked the film more. It’s not Haider but I want to see him (in a film like) Jab We Met (2007). I have not seen him in this space in ten years. That was my excitement. Also, in a contemporary space, he has not done that much. He’s a really good looking man but just keeps doing things to not look good but be a great actor in films!”
Dinesh Vijan also revealed the Mira Rajput connection, “He (Shahid Kapoor) did this film because his wife wants to see him in a film like this.”
Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya releases in cinemas on February 9.
