Disney+ Hotstar and Dharmatic Entertainment recently joined hands for a web series titled Showtime which explored the money, the business, the glamour, the relationships, the lifestyle, and everything good and bad about Bollywood including the concept of nepotism. While it is currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, the show featured Emraan Hashmi and Mahima Makwana in lead roles along with a host of actors in multi-layered characters which includes Rajeev Khandelwal and Shriya Saran too.
In the show, the two actors have been pitted together wherein Rajeev plays the role of a superstar actor whereas Shriya Saran too is seen in a glamorous avatar. Amidst the battle on nepotism and power struggles, the glitzy world of Bollywood is where images are crafted and maintained. However, despite this façade, there are rare glimpses into the genuine personalities that exist behind the screen. One such person is Rajeev Khandelwal, according to Shriya Saran.
The Drishyam actress who collaborated with the actor for this Karan Johar web-series, shared her experience of working with him and said, “Rajeev is very sweet, also reserved. You know you’ll talk about everything under the sun, but you’ll never really know what’s going on in his head. Among us, he’s also extremely down to earth and simple. He’s also very strict about his diet, his food. And you know, he comes across as a very serious guy. But inside is a really funny man. Like he can make you laugh and laugh and laugh. He’s a child at heart.”
Along with them, the show also stars Mouni Roy, Vishal Vashishtha, Neeraj Madhav, Vijay Raaz and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles. Created by Sumit Roy, and directed by Mihir Desai as well as Archit Kumar, the screenplay is written by Sumit Roy, Mithun Gangopadhyay and Lara Chandni whereas, the dialogues are penned by Jehan Handa and Karan Shrikant Sharma.
