The anticipation surrounding sequels often reaches a crescendo as audiences eagerly await the continuation of a beloved story. One such film that has been garnering attention is OMG 2, the sequel to the 2012 hit Oh My God! starring Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal. This increase of nearly 65% from its opening day collection of Rs. 10.26 cr. is being attributed to the Independence Day holiday which has greatly helped the film’s collection. Besides this another factor that is working in favour for OMG 2 is the other release Gadar 2. While the latter has been rewriting box office records, the overspill audience from the film have been venturing for OMG 2 giving it a much-needed boost. These two factors combined, with the fact that the film has been making headlines, thanks to the actors’ petition to revise the ‘Adults Only’ rating, and the marketing hype have gone a long way in bolstering business.
Going further OMG 2, that has been rather consistent in its box office collections with continue its steady march at the box office. Currently, trade estimates claim that if the film continues in this fashion, it is more than likely to near if not cross the Rs. 100 cr. mark by the end of its first week.
