Mohit Chauhan expresses excitement as he reunites with Rockstar team for Amar Singh Chamkila; says, “I was sure something magical is gonna happen”

Renowned singer Mohit Chauhan, part of the popular team of Rockstar, will be reuniting with the same team for the upcoming Diljit Dosanjh starrer Amar Singh Chamkila, which is a biopic on the Punjabi singer by the same name. This upcoming entertainer is incidentally helmed by director Imtiaz Ali with music composed by AR Rahman and lyrics penned by Irshad Kamil, the same team which was also a part of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer.

The singer, who was waiting for such an opportunity, expressed his excitement not only about the release of the film but also for the reunion. Chauhan, reflecting on his collaboration with the talented team, stated, “When I found out that the Rockstar team, including Irshad Kamil, AR Rahman, and Imtiaz Ali, were working on a film about Amar Singh Chamkila ji, I knew it would be exciting.” He emphasized the creative freedom and magic that working with Rahman entails, hinting at the enchanting musical experience awaiting audiences.

One of the highlights of the film’s soundtrack is the song ‘Ishq Mitaye’, sung by Mohit Chauhan himself. A blend of traditional and modern beats, the song weaves a narrative reflective of Chamkila’s dramatic rise to fame as Punjab’s original rockstar. Chauhan’s rendition is expected to add depth and emotion to this musical melody, with a promise of resonating with viewers. As Mohit Chauhan aptly sums it up, this collaboration promises to be an exciting and magical journey for both the creators and the audience alike.

With its rich musical heritage and compelling narrative, Amar Singh Chamkila is set to captivate hearts and minds. Showcasing the rise of the Punjabi singer and tracing his stardom as a rockstar, the film also features Parineeti Chopra as the leading lady, who essays the role of his wife and professional partner Amarjot. The film is expected to premiere on Netflix on April 12, 2024.
