Mission Raniganj Box Office Estimate Day 4: Collects Rs. 1.50 cr. on Monday; Akshay Kumar starrer below Shehzada but defeats Selfiee

It’s a sad Monday at the box office for Akshay Kumar as his newly released film, Mission Raniganj has collected Rs. 1.50 to 1.75 crores on its fourth day. It’s curtains down for the film as Mission Raniganj will go down as one of the biggest disasters for Akshay Kumar with lifetime collections under Rs. 30 crores.

After collecting Rs. 12.60 crores in its opening weekend, the Tinu Suresh Desai film collected approx. Rs. 1.60 crores on Monday taking the four-day total to Rs. 14.2 crores. The Monday is among the lowest ever for a feature film featuring a mainstream Hindi star. In fact, in recent history, the day four figure is the second worst, the worst being Selfiee which collected Rs. 1.30 crores. In fact, the Kartik Aaryan film, Shehzada too had a bigger Monday with collections of Rs. 1.80 crore.

There were reports of cancellations in some shows from across the country due to no audience, and the same is reflected in the collections. The general talk around Mission Raniganj is on the positive side in the media, but the same has not translated into box office numbers. It’s certainly a case of lack of interest among the audience to consume this film on the big screen due to a lack of buzz and hardly any promotions.

There will be a big drop in showcasing for Mission Raniganj from tomorrow due to a lack of audience in the hall and it’s going to end up being a major theatrical dud.
