Filmmaker Karan Johar has penned an emotional thank you note to the team of his latest film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film, which was released on July 28, has been receiving positive reviews from critics and audiences alike.
“Prior to the release of this film, I felt that at any point of time I would need an IV drip and was near collapse!! The question I asked myself was – is it the long 7 year gap? Or the anxiety built over the last 3 years. Or the fact that we live in an ambiguous box office time. Whatever the real reason is – I was a bonafide mess! But the Friday, 28th of July, I felt nothing but gratitude, validation and sheer joy,” read an excerpt of his post.
In his “long emo” note, Johar thanked the writing team of Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy, as well as the costume designer Manish Malhotra and the editor Nitin Baid. He also thanked the cast, including Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi, as well as the marketing team and the music composers Pritam and Amitabh Bhattacharya.
“This film is truly a product of team energy and love,” Johar wrote. “I am so grateful to everyone who worked on this film, and I am so proud of what we have created.”
