The Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan starrer Kalki 2898 AD has taken the box office by storm upon its release on June 27. According to early estimates, the Nag Ashwin film has created havoc at the box office with an all-India gross of Rs. 115 crores. This is the fourth highest of all time after Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion, RRR and KGF 2.
The film has been running to record-break capacities in South India, especially Hyderabad and Telangana. As per our tracking, Kalki 2898 AD has collected Rs. 65 crore in APTS, followed by Rs. 32 crore in North Indian Markets, Rs. 11 crore in Karnataka, Rs. 6 crore in Tamil Nadu and Rs. 3 crore in Kerala. With this, the All India Gross of Kalki stands in the upside of Rs. 116 crore, with a domestic nett of approximately Rs. 100 crore.
The film will be looking to hit the Rs. 300 crore club in India over the four-day run at the box office and then continue to stay steady for the coming two weeks until the release of Indian 2 on July 12. Kalki is the third Prabhas film to earn Rs. 100 crore or more at the Indian Box Office, the other two being Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion and Salaar.
The initial word of mouth of Kalki 2898 AD is on the positive side and this should set things up well for this Nag Ashwin film to hit the Rs. 500 crore number at the Indian Box Office in the long run.
