Shah Rukh Khan is headed to scale new heights at the box office in India as according to early estimates his newly released Atlee-directed Jawan has emerged a record opener in India. According to early estimates, Jawan has collected in the range of Rs. 64 to 66 crores on its opening day in Hindi, standing tall on the sky-high expectations of the industry.
The film has surpassed the opening day collections of Pathaan too, which collected Rs. 55 crore nett in Hindi on its opening day. The three national chains – PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis – have collected Rs. 31 crores on the opening day, as compared to Rs. 27 crores collected by Pathaan in the 3 chains. It’s an overall 18% growth in the chains, however in terms of Hindi-to-Hindi comparison, it’s a growth of approx 12% over Pathaan in the national chains.
When it comes to non-national chains and single screens, Jawan has outperformed Pathaan by a margin, with approximately 20 percent gains in the numbers. The overall opening day growth over Pathaan is around 17 to 18 percent, which leads us to the opening day expectation in the vicinity of Rs. 64 to 66 crores. This is an all-time biggest opening and a record that’s expected to stand tall for a while now.
