Janhvi Kapoor calls “Shah Rukh Khan and Rs 1000 crore films” jodi as she makes stand-up debut to educate about HPV

Janhvi Kapoor recently took on a new challenge: stand-up comedy! But this wasn’t your typical comedy routine. With wit and humour, Janhvi aimed to educate her audience about the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and the importance of vaccination.

In the engaging video, Janhvi playfully addressed the audience as an “aspiring comedian and aspiring actor,” acknowledging the feedback she received for her debut film. She then transitioned to the topic of HPV, emphasizing its seriousness with the line, “It’s not the name of some epic movie by SS Rajamouli, but a virus that can lead to cervical cancer.”

Janhvi used humor throughout, even weaving in pop culture references, comparing the fight against HPV to the “timeless jodis” like “Shah Rukh-Kajol, Shah Rukh and Rs 1000 crore films, and even idli-sambar!” This lighthearted approach effectively captured the audience’s attention while conveying the crucial message about HPV prevention.

For the unversed, every year, the world observes International HPV Awareness Day on March 4. Janhvi Kapoor has been at the forefront of spreading awareness about Human Papillomavirus (HPV) in collaboration with Serum Institute of India’s thought-provoking initiative, ‘IPledgeToPrevent’. Ahead of International HPV Awareness Day 2024, Janhvi created a Bawaal on social media by leaping forward in adopting one of the most unique approaches to draw attention to the disease. Leveraging that one extra day of this year – the Leap Day – Janhvi educates audiences about the causes and risks of HPV through laughter with her debut stand-up special, ‘Leap, Laugh & Learn’.
