When the advance booking opened for Crew, it became quite obvious that the film will take an opening of at least Rs. 6 crores. In couple of days though, Rs. 7 crores was a done thing and then some more numbers seemed on the cards. However, no one expected that the collections would actually end up aiming for the double digit mark. After all, the promotion of the film had begun just a month ago and while it seemed like a good product in the offering, due to its multiplex appeal the expectations were reserved.
Well, as it turned out though, crowds came in good numbers for the film and the bets were being placed on how much bigger will it actually end up becoming. The evening and night shows were quite strong for the film, especially in Delhi NCR which was also driven by the women audiences, and that’s what took the first day score to Rs. 10.28 crores. Now that’s really impressive because the collections are now the third best of the year after Fighter and Shaitaan, which says a lot.
Even though yesterday was a partial holiday of Holi, the film will still grow today because of its entertaining content. The film is being liked and the word of mouth is largely positive, which means a double digit score is on the cards today and then a big Sunday still to come. There is huge competition in front of it in the form of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, otherwise the Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kriti Sanon starrer would have done aimed for an even bigger score.
