Film producer Boney Kapoor has firmly shut down speculation regarding a biopic centered around his late wife, the iconic actress Sridevi. In a recent interview, Kapoor highlighted Sridevi’s private nature, stating her life should remain that way.
“She was a very private person, and her life should remain private,” Boney told DNA. “I don’t think there ever will be [a biopic]. Till the time I live, I will not allow this to happen.”
For the unversed, Sridevi died in 2018 in a Dubai hotel bathroom. The autopsy report called it an ‘accidental drowning’ in the bathtub. She was in the United Arab Emirates for the wedding of actor-nephew Mohit Marwah, with her husband Boney Kapoor and family.

This news comes as Kapoor gears up for the release of his upcoming production, Maidaan. The sports drama, directed by Amit Sharma, stars Ajay Devgn and Priyamani. Readers may recall that earlier today, Bollywood Hungama exclusively reported that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) granted a U/A certificate to the makers of Ajay Devgn-starrer Maidaan.
The CBFC granted a certificate to the makers today, that is, April 3. The length of the film, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 181.30 minutes. In other words, Maidaan is 3 hours, 1 minute and 30 seconds long.
