Bold and the Beautiful has Eric Forrester giving his own send-off in a gala-like event but, for a man who wants to stave off pity, he’s certainly creating more each day on the CBS soap.
Bold and the Beautiful: Eric Forrester Is Dying – Or Is He?
Eric Forrester (John McCook) is going to die within months. Or at least this is what he believes after the doctor handed him this death sentence for a prognosis.
Still, after all this time of “Eric is dying” on Bold and the Beautiful, not one word was uttered on the soap about his diagnosis. So, still, no one knows just what Eric is dying from.
Dr. Bridget Forrester (Ashley Jones) comes back to the screen on December 6. So, Bold and the Beautiful may wait until then to explain just what Eric’s ailing from.
Plus, while it looks like Eric is fated to die from whatever it is he has, this is B&B so that could change any second. It’s possible that’s why they are bringing back Bridget, to work a medical miracle.
B&B Spoilers: Eric Insists Mum’s the Word
Eric Forrester has some grand plans for his sendoff. He already believes that his final FC collection is his legacy. Next, he holds a gala, where all his friends and family can celebrate life with him.
He believes that only three people know he’s dying. That’s RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman), Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis), and Katie Login (Heather Tom). But that’s just not the case.
Don’t make me cry, Casey!
I adore John! So very many of us do. 💜#BoldandBeautiful https://t.co/ZJ5VPIiLTv

The list of people who know about Eric’s illness grows every day. So, his idea is not to gather any pity by keeping his fate under wraps. Still, when he throws that lavish event next month on Bold and the Beautiful, it sounds like more people than not know he’s dying.
But still, there’s nothing said about John McCook leaving the soap. Sure, teasers pop up, like the one above. Casey Kasprzyk, the producer of Bold and Beautiful, only says “Hard to ever imagine a world without John McCook’s one and only Eric Forrester.”
This sounds close to saying he’s leaving, but still no bananas.
Bold and the Beautiful: One Huge Pity Party?
Eric Forrester throws his own over-the-top party and invites family, extended family, and friends. But as far as Eric knows, no one has an inkling that he is dying except for the two he confided in, along with Katie.
She overheard his conversation with Donna a while back on Bold and the Beautiful. So she learned the truth accidentally.
With the gala affair a while away, that list is bound to grow. So, those who know that Eric stares death in the face will come. But it’s likely hard for them to pretend they know nothing.
Then those who don’t know will likely catch a glimpse of gloom on the faces of those who do at this grand affair. So to say this party will be filled with mixed emotions is likely an understatement.
This sounds like a recipe for a pity party. But the pity likely doesn’t lean toward Eric’s fate. No, people probably end up pitying him because he’s putting on a show when most people know his secret.
So everyone will watch the brave Eric Forrester. Even though they know that he puts on a show, folks likely let him continue down this path out of respect for his wishes.
But this could backfire very quickly on The Bold and Beautiful. Someone in the crowd could start crying or even blurt out something to make him realize he’s not fooling anyone.
So, if he finds out everyone knew all along, this could conjure up some anger in the Forrester patriarch. Instead of a sendoff, this could backfire and leave Eric Forrester feeling humiliated on this CBS soap.
