Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn recently took to his social media on Saturday to extend heartfelt birthday wishes to Boney Kapoor, the producer of the upcoming sports drama Maidaan.
Ajay took to his Instagram story and shared a candid picture featuring him and Boney Kapoor from the film set and expressed his wishes for the producer. In the Instagram story, Ajay conveyed, “Happy birthday Boney Ji! Wishing you happiness, peace & great box office returns!” The picture captured a moment from the shooting of Maidaan, the sports drama that pays homage to the golden years of Indian football.
The film, directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and co-produced by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios, revolves around the legendary coach Syed Abdul Rahim, portrayed by Ajay Devgn. Rahim is recognized as the architect of Indian football. Maidaan also boasts a talented cast, including Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh. However, the production faced challenges in 2020 when the film set had to be dismantled due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Later, in May 2021, Cyclone Tauktae further damaged the ‘Maidaan’ set.
Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn is preparing for Singham Again, the third installment of the successful Singham franchise, directed by Rohit Shetty. The movie features an ensemble cast, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Ranveer Singh. Scheduled for release on Independence Day 2024, Singham Again is poised for a major clash with Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 at the box office.
