It’s been four years since Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior roared onto the big screen, reigniting the flames of history and heroism. Today, the Ajay Devgn starrer’s legacy continues to burn bright, thanks in part to the heartfelt reflections of its actors, Kajol and Sharad Kelkar.
Sharad Kelkar, who embodied the legendary Tanaji Malusare, also expressed his gratitude for the role. He said, “Tanhaji will be on if my most favorite memories. Firstly, playing the role of my favorite Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and to work with Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan, it was like a dream come true.”
Kelkar further added, “I received immense love for the role, even today when people appreciate and recognize me for that part, I feel glad. I feel honored to play this role, and I thank Om Raut for giving me this big opportunity.”
Kajol, who brought the valiant Savitribai Malusare to life, took to social media to celebrate the film’s anniversary. She wrote, “It was a privilege to portray the brave character of Savitribai Malusare. Stories of our unsung warriors should be talked about more often, the valor is forever inspiring and is much needed!” Her words resonate deeply, highlighting the importance of remembering and honoring forgotten heroes like Savitribai.

The film is based in the 17th century, it revolves around Tanaji’s attempts to recapture the Kondhana fortress once it passes on to Mughal emperor Aurangzeb who transfers its control to his trusted guard Udaybhan Singh Rathore.
