Yodha Ahmedabad press conference: Karan Johar HITS BACK at nepotism allegations: “The next time anyone trolls us, they should look at Yodha; Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani, Raashii Khanna are all outsiders”

The team of Yodha, comprising actors Sidharth Malhotra, Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna, director duo Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, producers Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Shashank Khaitan and Manish Menghani and distributor Anil Thadani launched the trailer of the film at a multiplex in Ahmedabad. Karan Johar had a sore throat and yet he hit back over nepotism allegations in his opening speech.

Shashank Khaitan said, “Firstly, I’d like to thank Karan for always trusting me first as a filmmaker and later when I started bringing talent and scripts to him as a producer. Yodha is a result of it that we have Sagar and Pushkar on board as the directors. The journey started with Good Newwz (2019) where Raj Mehta made his debut and I got an opportunity to be on this side with all these legends.”

He continued, “The journey was difficult because of COVID challenges. But everything happens for the best and everything happening with Yodha, we are very hopeful and excited.”

Karan Johar, at this point, took over, “Shashank has ventured into a beautiful new territory and I feel proud as a parent for him. As somebody who has seen him grow from strength to strength, it makes me joyous.”

He then thundered, “And to everyone who accuses us of working only with insiders, Shashank Khaitan is our brand ambassador of an outsider. Sagar and Pushkar represent outsiders. So, the next time anyone trolls us, they should look at Yodha because the lead is also an outsider. So are Raashii and Disha. Hence, I think I deserve another crown now. Whoever may have tried to behead me, watch out for Yodha!”
