When Poonam Pandey opened up about her bold choices: “If you have to survive, you cannot post n*** pictures”

The entertainment world was in for a shock today with the news of the passing away of actress and model Poonam Pandey due to cervical cancer. She was 32 years old.

The news was confirmed by her team through a statement posted on her official Instagram handle. “This morning is a tough one for us,” the statement read. “Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared.”

In an earlier video interview with Bollywood Hungama, Poonam Pandey had shed light on her evolving perspective towards provocative photoshoots and the professional dynamics involved behind the scenes. When questioned about her comfort level regarding such photoshoots, Pandey articulated a nuanced stance, emphasizing the necessity for adaptation and professional conduct in the competitive entertainment industry.

Addressing the query about her comfort with provocative imagery, Pandey told Bollywood Hungama, “If you have to survive, you cannot post nude pictures.” Pandey candidly acknowledged her past choices, highlighting her evolution over time.

Pandey elaborated on the meticulous process behind such photoshoots, delineating the collaborative efforts of a professional team. She said, “When we click pictures like these, again it’s a professional team. There is a photographer, there is a makeup artist, there is a designer, there is a stylist, there are like 20 people on the set. Everything goes very very professionally. Its not like you pick up a camera and just click a picture.”

Reflecting on her journey, Pandey acknowledged her past decisions while signalling a trajectory towards professional growth and transformation. She noted, “I used to do that. I would agree. I used to do that earlier and everyone knows about it. But as time passes, it changes, things have changed.”

Poonam Pandey, who rose to fame through her modelling career, was a contestant on the reality show Lock Upp last year. She appeared in several films, including Nasha and Aa Gale Lag Jaa.
