Welcome to Plathville stars Moriah Plath and Lydia Plath continue to struggle with the changes within their family. It is not an easy time for any of the family members. Their parents, Barry Plath and Kim Plath, split continues to affect everyone.
TLC viewers will see a new chapter unfold for the Plath family on Welcome to Plathville. The latest promo trailer shows their journey is not easy. So many things changed for the entire family, and their life looks very different. Fans will recall Season 4 revealed the end of Kim and Barry’s 25-year marriage and a new start for all.
More than a year has passed, and they are all trying to adjust to the changes. Season 5 will focus on Kim’s life post-Barry. The new Welcome to Plathville promo trailer shows she is ready to move forward. So, she decides to test the waters with her daughters Moriah Plath and Lydia Plath. The women agree to meet up and talk things over. Kim tells her daughters it is time for her to move on and feels she is ready to date.
She explains that she is ready for the next chapter of her life. But she does not get the reaction she hoped for. Fans say it is easy to see that both Moriah and Lydia are uncomfortable with this subject. Kim looks hurt that neither of her daughters supports her dating decision. But the promo video shows Kim disregarding their feelings and dating a new man.
Season 5 of Welcome to Plathville will also reveal more has changed within the family than Kim’s dating status. Moriah Plath admits it is a difficult time for all concerned. She says that relationships between the siblings are fractured.
Their parent’s divorce is the tip of the iceberg for them. Viewers will recall that Season 4 ended with controversy surrounding Olivia Plath. During the finale, Olivia spilled some major tea about Ethan and his mom, Kim.
Olivia accused Kim of abusing Ethan financially. She said that Kim used Ethan’s credit cards without his permission. This information caused quite a stir within the family. Following the finale, the older siblings issued a joint statement calling Olivia’s claims false. They also said that Kim was not allowed to explain or defend herself.
This will also be a huge storyline in Welcome to Plathville Season 5. Moriah and Micah will meet with their parents and explain Olivia’s actions. During the teaser video, Moriah says she is fed up with Olivia. She is at her breaking point, and she and the rest of her siblings decide to cut ties with Olivia.
This drives a huge wedge between herself and Ethan. Once again, it looks like Olivia’s actions will put Ethan in a position to choose between his family and his marriage. But this time, it may mean the end of his marriage.
Season 5 will prove to be a difficult time for the Plath family. Their new paths show they are each changing and growing in different directions. It will prove to be a dramatic season for all. Many viewers are not going to believe the changes.
They’ve been through a lot, but this time it is different. The montage of clips also shows Moriah appears to come full circle. While Lydia Plath branches out more on her own and searches for balance. Micah Plath struggles with his feelings over his parents’ divorce. He and Barry look to form a tighter bond over a common interest.
Olivia will continue to test Ethan. However, it looks as if his patience and understanding wear thin, and it could come to an abrupt end. But TLC fans say they are most interested in seeing how Kim Plath’s story plays out with her family, especially Moriah Plath and Lydia Plath. There is a lot to unpack in Season 5 of Welcome to Plathville. Viewers will not want to miss one minute of this explosive Plath family drama.
