Welcome to Plathville mom, Kim Plath is ready to come out publicly to her family about her secret dating life. She’s a little nervous to start sharing her secret. But she’s finally found the courage to come clean with her youngest son, Isaac Plath. She wants to be the one to tell him she is dating his flight instructor, Ken Palmer, before he hears the news from someone else.
Kim Plath meets up with her son Isaac Plath because she wants to share some important news. The Welcome to Plathville star and her boyfriend, Ken Palmer, are getting more serious. So she thinks it is time she tells her children about their relationship. Kim starts with Isaac first because this relationship may affect him more personally than his siblings.
Isaac and his mom sit down to chat, and she tells him she wants to let him know what has been going on in her life. Isaac looks uncomfortable when his mom tells him she has been dating Ken. Her son is unsure what to say but tells her it is not a big surprise. He admits that he kind of put two and two together. His mom seems relieved that he is okay with the news. At least, it seems that way to her.
That is until she tells him he is the first of his Welcome to Plathville siblings, with whom she has shared the news. Then she tells him why. Kim gives her son Isaac Plath credit for being the one to introduce Ken Palmer to her.
Kim thinks everything is good between her and Isaac after she tells him about Ken. But during his confessional, the youngest Plath male said the news makes him feel awkward. He adds he doesn’t know what to say or think about it yet. However, since no one in his family knows their mom is dating now, he has no one to talk things over with. So, for now, he will process his feelings on his own.
The TLC Season 5 preview video shows Kim telling her Welcome to Plathville daughters Moriah Plath and Lydia Plath that she is ready to start dating. Their reaction to their mom’s news was not what she had hoped for. Moriah tells her mother that she does not support this decision, and Lydia agrees with her big sister.
Later in the video clip, she tells TLC cameras that her daughters would never stand for her, telling them when and who they could date. She also implies that she doesn’t intend to let their feelings stand in the way of her happiness. So, it looks like her dating life will adversely affect some of her children.
Kim Plath and Ken Palmer already decided to move forward with their relationship. She makes it sound like things between them are getting serious quickly. She is also quite smitten with the attention and affection he is showering her with. TLC fans are interested in seeing how the rest of her children and her ex Barry Plath handle the news.
At this time in her life, she feels she is finally getting everything she ever wanted in a partner. So, whether her children all agree with her choices. Right now, on Welcome to Plathville Kim Plath hopes at least Isaac Plath is on her side.
But, once he has time to process and talk with his siblings, he might not be as okay with it as she thought. It might take a while before everyone is on board with the Plath’s new family dynamics.
