Tiger 3 Box Office: Becomes Katrina Kaif’s biggest Week One opener

Seen last year in Phone Bhooth, Katrina Kaif has come back to the big bucks’ scene with her big screen flick Tiger 3. The film has completed one week/first seven days at theatres and has emerged as her biggest so far. Incidentally, it was Tiger Zinda Hai which had seen the best seven day collections for a film of hers back in time and now it’s Tiger 3 which has gone one up over that.

Of course, expectations were of a much bigger score and while the film was pegged to bring on Rs. 275-300 crores in the week gone by, at the very least Rs. 250 crores should have come in. While that hasn’t happened, the film has still done well enough for Katrina Kaif as the collections have zoomed past Bharat and Dhoom: 3 as well. In fact, Ek Tha Tiger is at the fifth spot which goes on to show how Tiger franchise with Salman Khan has been Katrina’s biggest bet over the years.

This is how the Week One/first seven-day collection of Katrina Kaif starrers look like:

Tiger 3 – Rs. 220.25 crores

Tiger Zinda Hai – Rs. 206.04 crores

Dhoom: 3 – Rs. 188.99 crores

Bharat – Rs. 167.60 crores

Ek Tha Tiger – Rs. 137.15 crores

Thugs of Hindostan – Rs. 132.35 crores

Bang Bang – Rs. 128.03 crores

Sooryavanshi – Rs. 120.67 crores

Zero – Rs. 82.60 crores

Jab Tak Hai Jaan – Rs. 98.41 crores

What’s all the more exciting is that 8 out of these 10 films have Katrina Kaif opposite a Khan and the only exceptions are Bang Bang (with Hrithik Roshan) and Sooryavanshi (with Akshay Kumar). While she has four films with Salman Khan, there are two each with Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan.
