Stree 2, the eagerly awaited sequel starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, has been a runaway success at the box office since its release on August 15, 2024. The film made a spectacular debut, raking in an impressive Rs. 55.40 crore on its opening day, thanks to the extended Independence Day holiday weekend. However, it’s the film’s performance in its second weekend that has truly cemented its status as a box office powerhouse. Stree 2 brought in an astounding Rs. 93.85 crore in its second weekend, making it the second all-time highest second weekend grosser in Indian cinema, just behind Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal, which collected Rs. 95.39 crore.

Stree 2 has overshadowed several other big-ticket releases, including the Sunny Deol-led sequel, Gadar 2 which grossed Rs. 90.47 cr in its second weekend, Shah Rukh Khan’s much-hyped Jawan which brought in Rs. 88.66 cr over its second weekend, and even the epic Baahubali 2, with its Rs. 80.75 crore second weekend haul, was outperformed by Stree 2.
If that wasn’t enough the film has overshadowed other releases as well likeAamir Khan’s Dangal, The Kashmir Files, Shah Rukh Khan’s earlier release Pathaan and the Sanjay Dutt biopic Sanju.
