Srikanth is headed in the right direction if Friday hold is any indication. The film brought in Rs. 1.18 crore more and compared to last Friday when Rs. 1.67 crore had come in, it has actually done well. Yes, something closer to Rs. 1.25 crore would have been better but what the film has achieved so far after opening at Rs. 2.41 crores, it has done well since the drop from first to third Friday is only around 50%.
The Rajkummar Rao starrer is now strengthening its case for being a Rs. 50 crores earner and for that what it needs is Saturday numbers to be really good and as close to Rs. 2 crores mark as possible. That would ensure that Rs. 4-5 crores more come in between today and tomorrow hence resulting in that weekend push which helps it consolidate its position for weekdays to come as well.
So far, the film has collected Rs. 33.20 crores and it’s good to see how after 12th Fail, there is yet another content movie about human resilience being endorsed by the multiplex audiences. Another common factor is very good actors playing the central role, as was the case first with Vikrant Massey and now Rajkummar Rao. Rest assured; it will fetch very good numbers on OTT as well when it arrives.
