Soni Razdan takes a light-hearted jab at Mukesh Khanna’s remark on live-in relationships as Zeenat Aman’s advice sparks debate: “Can’t imagine what would happen if…”

Veteran actress Soni Razdan has taken a lighthearted jab at actor Mukesh Khanna’s comments regarding live-in relationships. The debate sparked after actress Zeenat Aman advocated for couples to try live-in arrangements before marriage.

Mukesh Khanna, known for his iconic role as Shaktiman, expressed disapproval of Zeenat Aman’s advice. In an interview with Dainik Jagran, he stated that live-in relationships are “unacceptable” in Indian culture and dismissed them as a Western concept. He further questioned the compatibility of couples living together before marriage.

Soni Razdan took to social media (platform unspecified) to respond to Mukesh Khanna’s remarks. Her comment, laced with sarcasm, highlighted Khanna’s conservative viewpoint. She wrote, “Gosh, can’t imagine what would happen if a couple in a live-in relationship doesn’t get along. The mind boggles!”

Zeenat Aman’s suggestion on live-in relationships garnered mixed reactions from her fellow actors. “This is the same advice I’ve always given my sons, both of whom have had, or are in, a live-in relationship. It just seems logical to me that before two people get their families and the government involved in their equation, they first put their relationship to the ultimate test,” Zeenat wrote in an Instagram post.

Actresses Mumtaz and Saira Banu also voiced their opinions against live-in arrangements. While the former called Zeenat’s marriage a “living hell”, the latter told, “Iss baat se main toh sehmat nahi ho sakti hu kabhi bhi (I can never agree with this statement). I would never advocate live-in relationships like that. It’s something unimaginable and unacceptable for me,” in an interview with Hindustan Times.

Coming back to Zeenat, the 72-year-old actress is all set to make a comeback with Bun Tikki alongside Shabana Azmi and Abhay Deol.
