Soni Razdan reveals getting fraudulent calls from fake Delhi customs officials: “It’s very easy to get confused”

Veteran actress Soni Razdan, mother of Bollywood star Alia Bhatt, has issued a public warning about a scam she recently encountered. The actress took to social media to alert people about a “huge scam” involving individuals posing as Delhi Customs officials. According to Razdan, these imposters claim the victim has ordered illegal drugs and demand a hefty sum to resolve the matter.

In a detailed Instagram post, Soni Razdan described how these scammers operate. They first intimidate the victims by accusing them of purchasing illegal substances. Under the pretence of settling the issue discreetly, they then demand money, promising to handle the problem.

“There is a huge scam going around everyone,” Razdan wrote. “Someone calls up pretending to be from Delhi Customs and says you have ordered some illegal drugs. Or they say they are from the police. Then they try to get your Aadhar card number from you.”

Razdan shared her own experience, noting that she received a similar call. When the imposters asked for her Aadhaar card details, she became suspicious and refused to provide the information. They quickly hung up and did not call back, confirming her doubts about the legitimacy of the call.

“But it’s scary,” she remarked. “Save any numbers that you get calls from and go to the police. I know of 3 people in the last few weeks who have gotten these calls.”
