Sidharth Malhotra honors real-life Shershaah Captain Vikram Batra on his 50th birth anniversary

Sidharth Malhotra, recognized for his acclaimed role as Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) in the film Shershaah, honored the 50th birthday of the martyr on social media. On Monday, September 9, the actor posted a tribute on Instagram to the real-life hero, who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his valor in the 1999 Kargil War.

In his Instagram story, Sidharth shared a photo of himself standing with folded hands in front of Captain Vikram Batra’s statue. He accompanied the image with a heartfelt message: “Remembering Captain Vikram Batra (PVC), the real Shershaah, on his 50th birth anniversary. I’m grateful to have had the privilege of portraying him on screen. His bravery and spirit continue to inspire us all.”

Captain Vikram Batra, an Indian Army officer who sacrificed his life during the Kargil War, was honored with the Param Vir Chakra for his bravery. The film Shershaah depicted his life and valor, achieving significant success and earning Sidharth Malhotra acclaim for his role as Batra. The movie not only celebrated Captain Batra’s courage but also inspired audiences.

Directed by Vishnuvardhan, Shershaah was the first film to feature Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani together. Their on-screen chemistry was well-received, and their off-screen relationship eventually led to their marriage.
