The trailer launch of Disney+ Hotstar’s Showtime was launched today in a fun-filled event in Mumbai. Producer Karan Johar indulged in a rapid-fire session with the show’s actors. After Emraan’s Hashmi’s headline-grabbing rapid fire round, Mouni Roy entertained the audience with her answers.
The first question Mouni Roy was asked was, “What is the most overrated thing about our industry?” She replied, “Actually, there are lots. I don’t know if I should be talking about them right now.”
Next, Mouni was quizzed, “What is the flirtatious message you’ve received which has made you laugh?” Mouni surprised all as she revealed, “Nobody really flirts with me. I don’t know why. Either they become my best friends or they get intimidated by me.” Karan Kohar remarked, “Maybe because you’re friendzoning them all.” She nodded, “Yes, I think I am (laughs).”
When asked, “A rumour that you’d like to spread about yourself,” the stunning actress answered, “That I am doing your next directorial venture!” At this, Karan stated, “Why should it be a rumour? You have done such a spectacular job in one of our tent pole films, Brahmastra (2022). For that, we are eternally grateful to you!”
The question that followed was, “Have you ever heard a cheesiest pick up line?” Mouni said, “I have but I think they were insulting. Like she (pointing at Mahima Makwana) said, I have also been told, ‘You’ll never make it. You’ll never be able to act. You don’t have what it takes to become a Bollywood actor’.”
A shocked Karan opined, “That’s a pick-up line? They are not going to go anywhere with that line!”
Finally, Mouni Roy was asked, “Do you believe that in showbiz, love is just a story and that true love can’t exist?” She instantly replied, “No, I don’t. I really believe that true love exists in this world, no matter which industry you belong to. I am very much a part of the industry and I found my true love.”
Apart from Emraan Hashmi, Mouni Roy and Karan Johar, also present at this event were Gaurav Banerjee, Head – Content, Disney+ Hotstar & HSM Entertainment Network, Disney Star, Apoorva Mehta, Mahima Makwana, Rajeev Khandelwal, Shriya Saran, Vishal Vashishtha, Mihir Desai and Sumit Roy.
