Showtime trailer launch: Emraan Hashmi ROCKS the show with his rapid fire round: “A bizarre rumour I heard about myself is that I am a good kisser”; “I’ll call Salman Khan for fitness inspiration”

The trailer launch of Disney+ Hotstar’s Showtime was launched today in a fun-filled event in Mumbai. Producer Karan Johar indulged in a rapid-fire session with the show’s actors. Emraan Hashmi’s rapid fire set the mood and was the best part of the evening.

Karan Johar began by saying, “In the history of ‘Koffee With Karan’, there hasn’t been a more controversial rapid fire than Emraan’s. He got into a lot of trouble last time.” Emraan laughed as he said, “I had a lot of explaining to do. I kept saying to people that it was because of you and the hamper.”

Karan then began the session. The first question he asked was, “One thing you dislike about my community, the producers?” Emraan answered, “It’s very unnerving when a producer asks this question! Some producers are purely driven by commerce. That can be a deterrent because they look at film only as a proposal and they look at those who they work with only as commodities. And I am terrible at commerce. That’s why I could never be a producer. I am driven by the emotions and passion in films. I align with those producers, who are extremely passionate. (Pointing at Karan) You are one of them.”

Karan Johar’s second question was, “What is a bizarre rumour that you have heard about yourself?” Emraan nonchalantly quipped, “That I am a good kisser. It’s bizarre because I am not good, Karan. I am the best (kisser)!” As expected, the audience couldn’t stop clapping. A surprised KJo noted, “That stumped me a bit.” Emraan replied, “I stumped you last time as well!”

KJo followed this up with, “What do actors and actresses lie the most about?” Emraan’s answer was, “Some of them lie about their age.” Karan, at this point, joked, “I just turned 40 myself!”

Finally, Karan Johar asked, “Which Bollywood celeb would you call for fitness inspiration.” Emraan mentioned, “Salman Khan.” For acting tips? Emraan’s reply: “I don’t need any!”

Finally, he was asked who he would call for relationship advice. At this, Emraan answered, “I have been happily married for 16 years without any controversy. The way some relationships are going in our industry, I think I’ll give advice!”

Apart from Emraan Hashmi and Karan Johar, also present at this event were Gaurav Banerjee, Head – Content, Disney+ Hotstar & HSM Entertainment Network, Disney Star, Apoorva Mehta Mahima Makwana, Rajeev Khandelwal, Mouni Roy, Shriya Saran, Vishal Vashishtha, Mihir Desai and Sumit Roy.
