While it is turning out to be Rajkummar Rao’s season with first Srikanth and now Mr. & Mrs. Mahi doing quite well at the box office, there is Divya Khossla’s Savi which has made a place for itself as well. The film has, in fact, emerged as the second highest collecting film of the day and though not many would have expected it but it has also ended up collecting better numbers than Srikanth.
Both are T Series films and even though Srikanth is in its fourth week, it was still expected to maintain the lead over Savi. However, that hasn’t been the case as the Abhinay Deo directed dramatic thriller has, in fact, collected Rs. 2.05 crores, which is higher than Srikanth (Rs 1.53 crores). This is nice because it sets the stage well for the film to perform and all it needs is to maintain around the same levels today and tomorrow.
This would, in fact, require quite some push to stay in the vicinity of Rs. 2 crores since regular ticket prices have come into force. However, even if it manages around Rs. 1.50 crores then that would work since Savi has been made on a tight budget and hence doesn’t require much from theatrical returns perspective.
