Salim Khan aand Javed Akhtar to host special free screening of Sholay on August 31, celebrating 50 years of the iconic film

Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar starrer The Angry Young Men docu-series has received a massive response from the audience The show focuses on their journey. To make the event even more notable, the duo will host a special screening of the famous film Sholay on August 31.

The film, featuring Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Hema Malini, will be shown exclusively in Mumbai.

Taking to Instagram handle, Tiger Baby official shared the news and wrote, “Celebrate the magic of Salim-Javed 50 years later. One time screening of Sholay in cinemas this Saturday 31st August!” In the motion poster we can see Sholay’s poster and it is mentioned free screening. One of the fans wrote, “First Bollywood movie I ever watched as a kid in Iran with my family, Iconic movie who knew I would one day meet his daughter.” Another wrote, “That’s a woooowww! Guess History will be created again !.”

Ramesh Sippy’s timeless classic Sholay is one of those films that has aged remarkably well. Released in 1975, it captivated audiences and, after nearly 49 years, remains relevant today. Angry Young Men is a documentary about the legendary Bollywood writing pair Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar. This three-part series explores how Salim-Javed’s dramatic scripts and the iconic ‘Angry Young Man’ persona transformed Hindi cinema in the 1970s. It includes insights from the duo and industry luminaries, illustrating how their work on blockbusters such as Sholay, Deewaar, and Don captivated a generation and left a lasting cultural impact. The series aims to provide a candid and honest look at their lives, writing, and legacy.
