Rohit Saraf reflects on Ishq Vishk Rebound’s poor performance at box office: “I had massive expectations for myself”

Actor Rohit Saraf’s recent film, Ishq Vishk Rebound, has garnered attention since its theatrical release. Despite significant promotional efforts, the romantic comedy failed to perform well at the box office. In a recent interview with News18, Rohit addressed the film’s performance and his personal approach to the project.

High Expectations and Dedication
Rohit acknowledged the film’s box office outcome while speaking about his dedication throughout the production process. He stated, “I feel like I had such high expectations from myself and it came to my performance in the film because all this while I had a dream that I wanted to be a mainstream hero and I wanted to do a mainstream film.” He elaborated on his aspirations, “I wanted to be on the big screen and I wanted to see myself dance and all of that and so I had like massive expectations for myself.”

Despite the film’s box office performance, he expressed satisfaction with his own work ethic, stating, “I ensured that every single day, when I entered [set] and before I left I ensured that my director and producers were happy with what I did.”
Focus on Controllables and Positive Reception
The actor maintained a pragmatic outlook and explained the importance of focusing on controllable aspects of filmmaking. He stated, “What I can control is that I ensure that I deliver my 100% and I think I was able to do that.” He expressed gratitude for the positive reception he received for his performance, “I’m also extremely happy and grateful that every single person who has loved my performance has reached out – specifically people from the fraternity – from critics to the media and every single person who watched it sent really heart-warming messages.”
Looking Ahead
While Ishq Vishk Rebound may not have achieved box office success, Rohit has a busy slate ahead. He will reprise his role as Rishi Shekhawat in the upcoming season of the popular web series Mismatched. Additionally, he is confirmed to star in Dharma Productions’ upcoming film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, alongside Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Sanya Malhotra.
