Director Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated film, Ramayana, featuring the star-studded lineup of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Yash as per reports, has been generating significant buzz among audiences. As fans eagerly await the release of this live-action trilogy, the latest update on the project indicates that the film’s pre-production work is in full swing.

A report by PinkVilla suggests that Madhu Mantena, who is co-producing the film alongside Namit Malhotra, has confirmed that Ramayana is set to go on floors in the last quarter of 2023. The film’s casting has already created a stir in the industry, with the powerhouse trio of Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Yash set to bring the epic tale to life.

A source close to the development told the publication, “The pre-production work on Ramayana has begun in full swing. From multiple looks tests, to set designs, VFX, narrative – all of it is being discussed at the same time with multiple stakeholders. As an immediate step, the makers are putting up a small set in Filmcity, the construction of which has already begun. They are doing this to make sure that they get the look and feel of the set right. The makers are being extremely cautious, and don’t want to leave any stone unturned in portraying the story in its most authentic way. The test shoot is scheduled for the end of July, tentatively July 28. However, it is yet unclear about which actor will be a part of this exercise.”

As the team meticulously prepares for the upcoming test shoot, Ramayana is expected to set new benchmarks in visual storytelling and cinematic grandeur. With a focus on delivering an immersive and authentic experience, the filmmakers are determined to create a magnum opus that stays true to the essence of the revered Indian epic.
