Radhikka Madan regrets ‘not speaking more’ to Irrfan Khan on the sets of Angrezi Medium; says, “I never spoke unless I was spoken to”

Radhikka Madan got an opportunity to play the role of the daughter of Irrfan Khan in his last movie (prior to his demise) Angrezi Medium. The actress who shared the screen space with him shot the film across continents but revealed that she had maintained her conversations to a bare minimum with Khan because she wanted to give the latter space and assumed that she would get more time with him in the future. In a recent interview with Times of India, the actress expressed her deep regret since the actor passed away, a month after the film’s release.

Radhikka Madan revealed how recently she kept wondering that despite getting an opportunity to work with Irrfan Khan, she couldn’t have hearty conversations with the late actor. She said, “I was recently showing the film to my friend as he had not seen it, and I kept on wondering if I will ever be able to do a film like that again. I was remembering Irrfan Sir. I was wondering why didn’t I speak to him more, and get things out of him. I was very quiet on the sets and tried to give him space. I was just focusing on my character and wanted to see him as just my father .. I thought I would have a lot of time with him to discuss movies, acting and craft once after the film but he was going through so much. I never spoke unless I was spoken to.”

About Angrezi Medium

Co-starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, the film featured an ensemble supporting cast with Deepak Dobriyal, Dimple Kapadia, Ranvir Shorey, Pankaj Tripathi, among others in key roles. The film released in March 2020 and was considered to be the last release of Khan prior to his demise in April 2020 (barring his posthumous releases).

Irrfan Khan’s demise

After announcing his diagnosis of neuroendocrine cancer in 2018, the actor underwent extensive treatment but two years later, he was diagnosed with colon infection which eventually led to his demise on April 29, 2020.
