Filmmaker Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule has been in the news ever since it was announced at the end of the first film of the franchise Pushpa: The Rise in December 2021. Following this, the excitement for the second part kept growing with every new promotional material being dropped up to the film’s release. Hence, it was a given that Pushpa 2 would gain tremendous opening run at the box office. However, the film’s performance has surpassed the expectations of the trade.
This can clearly be seen from the fact that Pushpa 2 is already the eighth highest grossing dubbed Hindi film of all time. It is incredible that the movie has achieved this in a mere two days. The Allu Arjun starrer’s Hindi dubbed version has so far netted Rs. 131 crores in two days. By doing this, it has surpassed the entire lifetime collection of Baahubali: The Beginning, which ended its Hindi lifetime numbers at Rs. 118.7 crores.
The seventh, sixth and fifth numbers in the list of highest Hindi dubbed grossers are acquired by Saaho (Rs. 142.95), Salaar (Rs. 153.84 crores) and 2.0 (Rs. 189.55 crores). Pushpa 2 is expected to surpass these films today itself.
The top 3 films in the list are Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, KGF Chapter 2 and Kalki 2898 AD with Rs. 510.99 crores, Rs. 434.70 crores and 294.25 crores respectively. Pushpa 2 is expected to top the list by the time it ends its box office journey.
