In an interview with Hauterrfly’s Male Feminist, Prajakta Koli, the renowned Mismatched actress, bravely shared her own encounters with public sexual abuse and eve-teasing.
In a candid revelation, Koli disclosed that she had kept silent about her traumatic experiences for years. Reflecting on one distressing incident, she recounted an unsettling encounter from her childhood. “I was 11 years old and I was traveling in a bus one time. My stop was just around the corner. I kept feeling this thing rub against my back. When I got down I noticed a bulge in his pants, but I never understood what that was. I never spoke to anyone about it. After a lot of years when I spoke about it with my sister, I realised that it was an erection I felt against my back.”
The conversation delved further into another disturbing incident that occurred during a train journey. “Someone touched my face when I was sleeping on the train and I didn’t realise who it was. It wasn’t until the next morning that I saw a Babaji-type man looking at me and smiling,” Koli revealed. She further added, “I never spoke about it openly because I was afraid my parents wouldn’t let me travel alone.”
Apart from being a content creator, Prajakta Koli is also an actor and has also made her Bollywood debut with Varun Dhawan-starrer Jug Jugg Jeeyo and is also well known for being a part of the Netflix series Mismatched.
