For the past few days, Anupama actress Rupali Ganguly has come under the scanner after her stepdaughter Esha Verma has made some serious allegations against her and her husband Ashwin K Verma. After a post made by Esha about a few years ago has gone viral, she gave another interview where she accused Rupali and her husband of abuse and also went on to add that she was the reason behind her parents’ split. While Rupali has responded to it by filing a defamation suit of Rs. 50 crores against her, another actress Payal Rohatgi has slammed Ganguly for asking for money from her stepdaughter.
According to Payal Rohatgi, the actress has called these consequences ‘karma’ and went on to question the financial condition of Rupali Ganguly since the latter is asking for a whopping amount from her stepdaughter. She took to her Instagram story and wrote, “Whatever your truth Rupali did but u did marry a guy who was married when u met him. It’s called karma when u do what u do to the earlier wife. The daughter of the earlier wife will have her narrative”. She went on to add, “Rest figure it out in courts with your proof. But why u ask for so much money as defamation? U are broke? Do u all even understand what is 50 crores working in serials?”
Meanwhile, earlier on Wednesday, Rupali’s Anupama team has showcased their support towards the actress by sharing an appreciation post on her on social media. On the other hand, Rupali’s lawyer Sana Raees Khan too issued a statement where she has clarified that the reason behind Ganguly taking legal action is that she has been undergoing mental stress and that these accusations has affected her professional standing and reputation.
Rupali Ganguly tied the knot with businessman Ashwin K Verma on February 6, 2013 and the couple has a son who was born in the same year, on August 25.
