Pavitra Punia REVEALS struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts after Bigg Boss 14; calls it “the darkest phase” of her life

Popular television actress Pavitra Punia has bravely opened up about a difficult period in her life following her stint on the controversial reality show Bigg Boss 14. In a recent interview with ETimes TV, Punia revealed she battled financial struggles, depression, and even suicidal thoughts after leaving the show.

Punia shared that the lack of work opportunities and the responsibility of caring for her family, coupled with a personal tragedy – her father’s accident that left him paralyzed – plunged her into the “darkest period” of her life. “It was the toughest time,” she said, emphasizing the financial strain and the burden of responsibility towards her family.

The actress explained that while the money she earned on Bigg Boss 14 helped initially, it eventually ran out. Facing unemployment amidst her father’s medical needs, she felt overwhelmed. “More than the lockdown, the most challenging time for me was when I came out of Bigg Boss,” she expressed.

The financial stress and personal circumstances led Punia to a dark space. “The following one and a half years were incredibly challenging, marking the darkest phase of my life,” she stated, honestly confessing her battle with depression and even suicidal thoughts. “I found myself on the brink of depression, struggling with thoughts of suicide,” she revealed.

Fortunately, Punia found solace in her family’s love and her strong sense of responsibility towards her pets. “The love of my family saved me,” she acknowledged, expressing gratitude for their support. Additionally, the thought of leaving her dogs unattended motivated her to persevere. “I have 10 dogs… I would think, ‘What will happen to them if I’m not around?'” she shared, highlighting the pivotal role her furry companions played in her recovery.

Punia concluded by expressing her belief that overcoming these hardships has made her stronger: “So, I felt that despite the tough times, it was my karmic duty to endure and overcome. And eventually, I believe it paid off beautifully.”
