The Amit Rai-directed OMG 2 starring Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam, and Pankaj Tripathi is recording an excellent trend at the India Box Office as the business of the film has gone up on Monday as compared to Friday. According to early estimates, OMG 2 has collected in the range of Rs .11.00 to 12.00 crores, taking the four-day total collection to Rs. 54 crores. OMG 2 is the second film of 2023 after The Kerala Story to record a Monday higher than Friday.
The business has gone up across the board – be it the multiplex chains or the non-national multiplex chains. The film had started relatively slow due to a clash scenario with Gadar 2 as also a doubt on content but with glowing word of mouth coming into the picture, the film is in a league of its own. The business is growing from strength to strength and it will soon enter the 100 crore club to emerge as a clean hit for Akshay Kumar.
This was an important film for Akshay Kumar as he had delivered 5 back-to-back unsuccessful films and the streak is now broken with OMG 2. The business looks even bigger if we take into account the Adult Rating and the clash Scenario.
OMG 2 will target the collections of Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani in the long run, and emerge as a super hit, though at this point in time with a jump on Monday, it has secured its hit verdict at the box office.
