No Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh releases in 2024; After a ROCKING 2023, will 2024 be a bit underwhelming for Bollywood?

2023 was a rocking year for Bollywood not just due to the blockbuster business of films but also because all major stars had a release like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, etc. 2024 will probably be the first ever year when both Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan won’t have a release (it happened in 2022 as well but that was due to pandemic reasons). Neither will Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor feature on the big screen. Aamir Khan does have a release on Christmas. But he has often changed the release dates and hence, not many are confident that he’ll make it on time. SRK, however, will be seen in a small role, in Sujoy Ghosh’s next, co-starring daughter Suhana Khan. But being a cameo, the film can’t be expected to do Pathaan or Jawan-type numbers.

Raj Bansal, the owner of Entertainment Paradise in Jaipur said, “2023 was one of the best years. In fact, if I recollect correctly, it was the biggest in terms of box office. Unfortunately, I don’t see 2024 to be as great as 2023. There are no Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan films. Neither will there be a Ranbir Kapoor-starrer.”

Film exhibitor and distributor Akshaye Rathi agreed that while the Khans, Ranbir and Ranveer Singh don’t have a release, he remarked that “2024 will, at the same time, have an interesting mix of some Hindi tentpole and a lot of Telugu biggies. This year, Prabhas is the only young Telugu star who had a release. Next year, Allu Arjun, Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Mahesh Babu, etc, will present their films, which are true blue Pan-India films. Also, in the second half of 2024, Hollywood will come back into play. With these three industries, I am sure we’ll have a respectable number at the box office.”

Trade guru Komal Nahta explained, “The Khans don’t have any release. It’s like a despondent note on which the new year is beginning. But I just feel that there are other commercial films slated for release like Singham Again, Fighter, Pushpa 2 – The Rule, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Welcome To The Jungle, etc. It’s a given that it may not be as great as 2023. Nevertheless, without the Khans also, we might have a very eventful and successful year. People are saying ‘Koi film hi nahin hai’. What they mean is ‘Koi Khan ki film nahin hai’. But frankly, only one Khan ran this year (Shah Rukh Khan). Hence, we shouldn’t feel sad that there are no Khan releases. There are others who’ll carry the torch.”
